Avant Garde was a publication renowned for its distinctive and innovative graphic and logogram designs, crafted by the acclaimed Herb Lubalin. With a publication span of 14 issues, the magazine was available from January 1968 to July 1971, and was centered in the vibrant city of New York. Ralph Ginzburg served as the editor, in what was his third collaboration with Lubalin, following their successful partnerships on Eros and Fact. Ginzburg continued to showcase Avant Garde's bold and thought-provoking content, with creative imagery that boldly critiqued American society and government, covering taboo topics and using provocative language and imagery for the time period.  While it had a modest readership, it was highly sought after in select communities such as the influential advertising and editorial art directors of New York.

Vintage issues are in as-is condition, with slight wear for age. Issues have full pages but some stains, tears, and a slight musty smell.
