The Documentation Centre of Everyday Culture in Eisenhüttenstadt put together an exhibition in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus in 2019. This exhibition focused on the Bauhaus legacy in the GDR (East Germany), highlighting both continuities and inconsistencies in the development of modern design and everyday culture. Drawing on the reformist tradition of the Bauhaus school, which emphasized interdisciplinary methods and a broad social design perspective, the exhibition aimed to shed light on the subject. The catalogue for the exhibition offers a five-chapter overview of its themes, using a wealth of visual materials, including furniture, receptacles, technical devices, and commercial art.
