Poul Kjærholm was a Danish designer and architect who is known for his contributions to modern furniture design. Kjærholm was born in 1929 in Denmark and studied at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen. He worked as an apprentice to the architect and designer Arne Jacobsen before establishing his own design studio in 1955.

Kjærholm is best known for his furniture designs, which are characterized by their clean, minimalist lines and use of high-quality materials such as steel, leather, and marble. He was particularly interested in the intersection of craftsmanship and industrial production, and many of his designs were produced in small quantities by hand. Kjærholm's work has been widely exhibited and is held in the collections of major museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He died in 1980.
